GWS Technologies, Inc. Increases Focus on Canadian Small Wind Turbine Market

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of an initiative to develop the Canadian small wind turbine market, GWS Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: GWSI - News), an alternative energy company developing and marketing solar and wind-powered renewable energy products and solutions, has sent a representative to the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA)’s Fast Forward to Wind Conference and Trade Show, which is being held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, British Columbia, from October 19-22, 2008.

Canada’s largest renewable energy conference, Fast Forward to Wind is designed to facilitate access to key industry players and new markets in the emerging Canadian wind energy industry. With more than 200 exhibitors and 2,000 participants, Fast Forward to Wind represents the premier gathering of wind industry experts and advocates from Canada, the U.S. and Europe. The conference also features valuable educational and networking sessions.

According to CanWEA, Canada has still only scratched the surface of its massive wind energy potential. Total spending on wind energy in North America is expected to double by 2010 to $7.5 billion annually, with microgeneration systems providing a significant portion of the overall electricity generated. The majority of small wind turbines installed in Canada originate from the United States.
